Estherville Man’s Rites Set Friday
Arnold Elmer Tangeman, 52, Estherville, died of lung cancer at 12:30 p.m. Jan. 29 in Holy Family Hospital.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Ceylon, with the Rev. Sanford Sill officiating. Burial will be made in East Side Cemetery, Estherville. Friends may call at Reese-Henry Funeral Home, Estherville, after 7 p.m. today.

Mr. Tangeman was born July 24, 1921 in Ocheyedan to Arthur and Cecelia Christensen Tangeman. He was educated in Spirit Lake schools. On Feb. 21, 1945 he was married to Florence Mae Ingvall at Jackson. They lived in the Spirit Lake and Estherville area and farmed until 1951 when they moved to a farm near Dolliver, then moved into Estherville in the fall of 1973.

Mr. Tangeman was a veteran of World War II and a member of Dolliver Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Tangeman, Rock Rapids; one son, Steven Tangeman, Cleghorn; two daughters, Susan Marie Tangeman at home and Mrs. James (Sharon) Rooney, Dolliver; three grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Alvin (Arlene) Behrends, Mrs. Paul (Velda) Moreau and Mrs. Lloyd (Betty) Ingvall, all of Estherville, and Mrs. Donald (Vivian) Bunte, Rock Rapids; four brothers, Donald Tangeman, Verndale, Minn., Robert Tangeman, Monroe, Maynard Tangeman, Hebron, Ind., and Dale Tangeman, Sioux Falls.

Serving as pallbearers will be Walter Frick, Irven Dalen, Robert Levell, Kenneth Reinhardt, John Jorgensen and Asgar Hansen. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 30, 1974)
