Frank Smith Dies Wednesday
Frank Pierce Smith, 90, Estherville, died Wednesday [October 27, 1971] at Holy Family Hospital following an illness of one day.

He was born Aug. 28, 1881, at Lebanon, Ind., to Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Smith. He was educated in Indiana schools.

He was married March 1, 1901, to Rebecca Anne Smith at Lebanon, Ind. They lived in Illinois until Feb.1, 1920, when he moved to a farm near Estherville. They farmed until 1942 and retired to Estherville.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, the Presbyterian Church and was very active in all phases of church work until his age forced him to retire.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. George (Gertrude) Hendrickson, Seattle, Wash., and Mrs. Earl (Mary) Russell, Milford; three sons, Buren K. Smith, Costa Mesa, Calif.; Omer O. Smith, Milford; and Donald A. Smith, Hoffman, Minn.; 36 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two daughters, four son, five sisters and three brothers.

Services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the Presbyterian Church with the Rev. H. Allan Wirtz officiating. Burial will be in East Side Cemetery.

Friends may call at Reese-Henry Funeral Home after 9 a.m. Saturday when the casket will be taken to the church. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 28, 1971)
