ESTHERVILLE - Funeral services for Gerald Claude Summers, 64, Estherville, Emmet County, Iowa, will be 2 p.m., Monday at the Estherville Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Harvey Throop officiating and burial in the East Side Cemetery. He passed away early Friday morning at Holy Family Hospital, Estherville, Emmet County, Iowa.

Mr. Summers was born January 18, 1911 at Shenandoah, Page County, Iowa, to Earl and Pearl (Van Kirk) Summers and moved to the Ringsted area as a youth with his parents. He attended schools in the rural Ringsted area and on February 4, 1939 he was married to Luella Lough at Nashua, Iowa. They farmed in the Ringsted area until 1951 when they moved to Estherville where he was employed with John Morrell and Company.

Survivors include his wife, Luella; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Summers, Ringsted, two sons, Dennis and Richard, Estherville, Iowa, one daughter, Mrs. Clarence (Shirley) Ukasick, Estherville, 10 grandchildren; one brother, Lloyd, Ringsted; and two sisters, Mrs. Ray Sunde, Estherville, Iowa and Mrs. Michael Englert, Belmont, California.

He was preceded in death by two brothers.

Henry Funeral Home, Estherville, is in charge of the arrangements where friends may call all day Sunday.
