Bernice Leone Strube, 86, Estherville, and formerly of Terril, died Monday, Dec. 3, 1990, at her home. Services were 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Estherville. Pastor Richard Berger officiated.

Mrs. Strube was born Feb. 22, 1904, at Perry to Walter and Jessie (Lenocker) Spencer. She attended school at Perry and later moved with her family to Dickinson County in 1911 and attended school in Terril.

She married John O. Strube Sept. 17, 1924, in the Terril Lutheran Church, Terril. The couple lived on a farm near Terril until 1944 when they moved to Estherville. She ironed for people in Estherville and for a local laundromat.

She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Estherville.

Survivors include one son-in-law, Russell Agerbeck, Estherville; one daughter-in-law, Sylvia Strube-Poyzer, Estherville; six grandchildren, Mrs. Roy (Berniece) Jensen, Dunnel, MN, Gary Strube and his wife, Kay, Mrs. Jerry (Mary) Christensen, Marlys Strube-Zieckler, and Kevin Strube and his wife, Karen, all of Estherville, and Janice Strube; eight great-grandchildren, Scott, Jeff, and Brian Jensen, Tara Zieckler, Kyle and Kipp Strube and Eric and Elizabeth Christensen; one brother, Charles Spencer and his wife Verna, Montevideo, MN; and four sisters, Wilma Bridges and her husband, Bob, and Mary Booton, all of Spirit Lake, and Edna Leuhring and Norma Brant, both of Terril.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, one daughter and three brothers.

Burial was in East Side Cemetery, Estherville. Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home, Estherville, was in charge of arrangements. (Spirit Lake Beacon, Spirit Lake, IA, December 13, 1990)
