Rites Monday for W. Stick, Estherville
Funeral rites for William Adolph Stick, 79, Estherville, are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Estherville. Family services will be at 10 a.m.

Rev. Walter Discher will officiate. Friends may call at the Reese-Henry Funeral Home between 9 a.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. Monday. Burial will be at the East Side Cemetery.

Stick died at 11 a.m. Thursday of a heart attack while mowing his lawn.

He was born Nov. 24, 1888, at Glenville, Pa., to Mr. and Mrs. William Stick. He received his education in York, Pa., schools.

Stick married Anna Peterson at Sioux City Feb. 23, 1916. He worked as a boilermaker in York before he moved to Schaller, where he farmed seven years.

He then moved to a farm north of Estherville, where he farmed until his retirement in 1948.

Stick served on the board of the federal land bank and was a committeeman for the ASC. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife, Anna, his son, Earl, of rural Estherville; three grandchildren; and two stepbrothers and one stepsister, all of York, Pa.

He was preceded in death by his father, his mother, his stepfather and two step-brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 29, 1968)
