John Steele Services Here Thursday
Funeral services for John Steele, 23, a grandson of Mrs. Fern Clausen, of Estherville, will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday at the Union Baptist Church, Rev. Rawlin Johnson officiating.Burial will be in a family plot at East Side Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Reese Funeral Home after 6 p.m. Wednesday until time of services. Military services will be conducted by the local VFW and Legion posts.
Steele died from the effects of an automobile accident Dec. 9 in --. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Steele, were both reared in Estherville. Mrs. Steel was the former Lulu Prior. They moved to Waterloo where John was born.
He was reared and educated in Waterloo and Boise, Idaho. He enlisted in the army November, 1957.
He was married in September of 196- to Judith Bradley, Ft. Leavenworth, Kan.
His body is being brought to Estherville for burial.
He is survived by his wife, two sons, John 3 and Jeffrey, 2, one sister, Mrs. Donald --, Boise, Idaho, his mother, Mrs. Lester Trostel, Boise, and father, Vernon Steel, Waterloo. He is also survived by two aunts who live in Estherville, Mrs. Floyd Given and Mrs. Ray Steel and his grandmother, Mrs. Clausen. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, December 29, 1964)
