MRS. HARVEY SOLMONSON 1894 – 1979
Estherville – Services for Mrs. Harvey (Irene) Solmonson, 84, Estherville, were held June 25 at the Henry and Olson Funeral Home, Estherville, with the Rev. Max Goldman of the United Methodist Church officiating. Interment was in East Side Cemetery. Mrs. Solmonson died Friday evening at Holy Family Hospital.

The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Owen Wickens, she was born Dec. 1, 1894 at Rock Falls, Ill. She received her education in Illinois schools and moved from Illinois to Galva and then to Gruver in 1911. She was married to Harvey Solmonson on April 11, 1914, at Estherville, and the couple farmed in the Gruver area until moving to Estherville. She was a member of the United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Solmonson is survived by her husband, Harvey, Estherville; four sons, Francis Solmonson, Wayne Solmonson, Ernest Solmonson and Donald Solmonson, all of Estherville; two daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Shriner, Estherville, and Mrs. Lawrence (Doris) Masear, Des Moines; 15 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Russell Meewes, Dike.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, one sister, two brothers and two grandchildren. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, June 25, 1979)
