Mrs. Ullensvang, Pioneer County Resident, Dies
Mrs. Guro Ullensvang, 85, pioneer resident of this county, died at 6:50 p.m. Monday [November 12, 1951] at Holy Family hospital. The crippling effects of arthritis had confined her to her bed for the past 12 years.

Mrs. Ullensvang was born in Maage Norway, on Oct. 2, 1866. When she was 25 she came to Lee county, Ill., where she resided for three years. She was united in marriage with Halger S. Ullensvang and came to Emmet county the following year. Her husband preceded her in death.

Survivors are two daughters and three sons: Mrs. Adolph Peterson of Estherville, Gulla of Boston, Mass., John, Stewart and Lawrence of Emmet county. There are three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Sternborg funeral home and at 2 p.m. Friday at the Estherville Lutheran church. Interment will be in the East Side cemetery.

The Rev. L.C. Hinderaker will officiate and Rev. C.B. Gunderson will assist. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, November 14, 1951)
