1910-1978
Estherville – Services for Richard J. Zitterich, 68, Estherville, will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Estherville, with the Rev. R.B. Flentgen officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery.

Mr. Zitterich died Monday [October 23, 1978] evening at Holy Family Hospital.

Friends may call at the Henry and Olson Funeral Home, Estherville, after 10 a.m. Thursday until noon Friday, when the body will be taken to the church.

Mr. Zitterich was born Oct. 4, 1910, at Estherville, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Zitterich. He received his education in Estherville schools and was married to Ruby Fisher on June 13, 1934, at Jackson, Minn.

He lived in Estherville his entire life, operating Zitterich’s garage for many years and also doing custom farming. He had semi-retired because of health. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Mr. Zitterich is survived by his wife, Ruby, Estherville; six daughters, Mrs. Keith (Betty) Montgomery, Grinnell, Mrs. Dale (Beverly) Masters, Estherville, Mrs. Richard (Barbara) Beaver, Spirit Lake, Mrs. James (Gladys) Booth, Newton, Mrs. Ron (Linda) Cross, Curlew, and Mrs. Gary (Nadine) Thu, Cushing; three sons, Charles Zitterich, Auburn, Wash., and Rick Zitterich, Estherville; 26 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. Ernest (Rose) Syverson, Estherville, Mrs. Don (Evelyn) Muetzel, Spencer, Mrs. Glenn (Esther) Lauritsen, Paulina, Mrs. Jack (Lois) Rogers, Estherville, and Mrs. Dwane (MaryBell) Dahl, Magnolia; and four brothers, William Zitterich, Riverside, Calif., Clair Zitterich, Estherville, Francis Zitterich, Sioux Falls, S.D., and Walter Zitterich, Spirit Lake.
