Estherville – Funeral services for Mrs. Cora Zaugg, 73, of Estherville, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Estherville Lutheran Church, with the Henry and Olson Funeral Home of Estherville in charge of the arrangements. Services were held Wednesday, January 23, 1985, 11:00 a.m. at the Estherville Lutheran Church for Cora Agnes Zaugg, 73. Pastor Stan Eyberg officiated, with burial in the East Side Cemetery. Henry and Olson Funeral Home of Estherville was in charge of the arrangements.Cora Agnes Sunde was born September 4, 1911 at Huntington, Iowa, the daughter of Martha (Larson) and Tom T. Sunde. She attended the Estherville schools and Estherville Junior College, also Lutheran Bible Institute at Minneapolis and Augustana College at Sioux Falls. After college she taught school in Chicago, South Dakota and West Bend, Iowa before returning to Estherville in 1949 where she taught at Maniece and Jackson Grade Schools. She was united in marriage to Joseph Zaugg on July 3, 1949 at Estherville Lutheran Church. Cora and Joe lived at 22 Westwood Drive, Estherville. She passed away Sunday at the Holy Family Hospital in Estherville. She was a member of the Estherville Lutheran Church.
Survivors are: her husband, Joseph of Estherville; brothers and sisters: Taylor Sunde, Estherville; Maurice T. Sunde, Colorado Springs, Colorado; Mrs. Rosella Moore, Estherville; and Mrs. Wm. (Irene) Anderson of Estherville.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Orris Sunde.
Pallbearers were James Zaugg, Eli Gerber, Don Brown, Harold Shugart, Eric Anderson and Harold Fisher. (West Bend Journal, West Bend, IA, January 24, 1985)
