Estherville – Services for Ersel L. [Lorraine] Seeger, 69, of Estherville are pending at Henry-Olson-Fuhman Funeral Home in Estherville. She died at Holy Family Hospital in Estherville Wednesday. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 9, 1992)

Born June 18, 1923 in Spirit Lake. . . daughter of John and Gladys Davis Hilliard and attended – high school. Following graduating from high school she moved to – Wash. to build – during World War II. On December 13 1952 she was united in marriage with Benjamin Seeger at/of Montgomery. Following their marriage the couple farmed west of Spirit Lake before moving to the Estherville area in 1956. They moved into town in 1962.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church, VFW Auxiliary; Emmet County Food Pantry and Time Out Nursery, she had been a Sunday School teacher and Girl Scout leader and was active in the church and doing volunteer work.

Survivors include her husband, Ben; two son and two daughters; Gary Morand, Duluth, Georgia; Mrs. Richard (Karla) Hasbrook, Jackson, Min.; Terry Seeger, serving with the U.S. Army in Germany and Mrs. Mark (Sherilee) Lenz, Lismore, Minn; 11 grandchildren; one brother, Majel Hilliard, Morton, Ill.; three sisters; Mrs. Sylvan (Thelma) Moench, Seattle, Wash.; Mrs. Gene (Melba) Wilson, Wallingford; and Mrs. Joyce Farquharson, Des Moines.

She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, parents; two brothers and one sister. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 11, 1992)
