Estherville Man Dies; Rites Set
Carl Casey [Andrew] Schlotfeldt, 63, Estherville, died at 1:30 a.m. Jan 27 in Holy Family Hospital, Estherville, of cancer.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Estherville Lutheran Church with the Rev. Stan Eyberg officiating. Burial will be made in East Side Cemetery, Estherville. Friends may call at Reese-Henry Funeral Home, Estherville, after 10 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Mr. Schlotfeldt was born Feb. 8, 1910 at Exira to Walter and Nellie Baylor Schlotfeldt. He was educated in Exira schools and attended Iowa State University, Ames. On Aug. 23, 1947, he was married to Stella Sandvig at Jackson, Minn. He had come to Estherville in 1938 and worked for Tobin’s Packing Co. and later John Morrell and Co. for 37 years as an electrical foreman. He was a member of Estherville Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife, Stella; three sons, Richard Schlotfeldt, Fort Dodge, David Schlotfeldt, Pensacola, Fla., and Dennis Schlotfeldt, Houston, Tex.; five grandchildren; one brother, Earl Schlotfeldt of Redding, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 28, 1974)
