Estherville – Services for Mrs. Gordon (Verla) Rick, 60, Estherville, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Henry and Olson Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Dan Swanson of the Union Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery. She was dead on arrival at the Fairmont Community Hospital Sunday [February 14, 1982].

Friends may call at the Henry and Olson Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Tuesday.

Verla Fisher Rick was born on July 4, 1921 at Jackson, the daughter of Bert and Emma (Arp) Fisher. She was educated in the Estherville Schools. On August 13, 1949 she married Gordon Rick at Estherville, and has lived most of her life in the Estherville area.

Mrs. Rick is survived by her husband, Gordon, Estherville; five daughters, Mrs. Lanny (Patricia) Eldridge, Des Moines, Mrs. Robert (Janit) Jensen, Marian Fuller, Marilyn Clabaugh, Mrs. Maurice (Debra) Thieszen, Estherville; nine grandchildren; one great grandchild; three brothers, Harold, Harry and Donald Fisher all of Estherville; four sisters: Mrs. Florence Erne, Arnolds Park, Mrs. Norman (Velma) Syverson, Dunnel, Mrs. Harold (Dorothy) Spoo, Lakefield, Minn., Mrs. Harold (Hattie) Thompson, St. Louis, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and two sisters. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, February 16, 1982)
