Ressler Obituary
Susie Matilda Stevens was born in Parkersburg Oct. 23, 1891, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jay Stevens. She is survived by five sisters, Mrs. Adolph Thiesen and Mrs. Lloyd Keller, Cedar Falls, Mrs. Guy Robinson, Rochester, Minn., Mrs. M.B. Owen, Boulder, Colo.; Mrs. Perry Newburn, Greene, Ia., and three brothers, Harry Stevens, Clarksville, Sol Stevens, Waterloo, Earl Stevens, Longmont, Colo.

She was married at Dumont, Ia., July 3, 1909 to Claude Ressler, where they established a home, later moving to Emmet county where they raised a family of six children who with the husband and father are left to mourn the loss of a loving wife and mother. The children are Mrs. Walter Jaster of St. Peter, Minn., Mrs. Ray Deling, Superior, Lyle, Thelma, Donald and Helen at home and four grandchildren. Mrs. Ressler was a faithful church worker and a member of the Royal Neighbors lodge and a kind neighbor and friend in time of need. She passed away at a hospital in Estherville Sunday morning, Aug. 1st. The funeral services were held at the Gruver Presbyterian church Wednesday afternoon, Rev. T.C. Burton officiating. Mrs. Ressler is Laid to Rest Wednesday
Gruver, Iowa, August 10 – Mr. and Mrs. Walter Jaster returned to their home at St. Peter, Minn., after being here several days, being called here by the death of Mrs. Jaster’s mother, Mrs. Claude Ressler whose funeral was held Wednesday afternoon by Rev. Burton at the Presbyterian church. Burial was made at East Side cemetery, Mahlum & Anderson were funeral directors. Pall bearers were: Frank Barber, Will Martin, Howard Haywood, Walter Haskins, Alfred Myhre and Henry Whitacre.

Among those from out of town to attend the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. H.O. Miller of Arnolds Park, Mr. and Mrs. Will Kimball and Mrs. Rex Williams of Shell Rock; Mr. and Mrs. Loyd Keller and Mrs. Adolf Theizen of Cedar Falls; Mrs. Lloyd Kossart and Earl Mast of Waterloo; Mr. and Mrs. Perry Newburn and Loren Weston of Greene; Mr. and Mrs. Sol Stevens; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Stevens; Henry Jaster and Mrs. August Jaster of St. Peter, Minn., and Logan Ressler of Clarksville, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Jaster of St. Peter, Minn., and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Delling, Mrs. John Delling and Eldon Leek of Superior.
