Mrs. Steven Sullivan Dies at 90
Mrs. Steven Sullivan, 90, former Estherville resident, died Saturday [April 22, 1967] at 6:50 p.m. at St. Joseph Home near Fairmont, Minn. Mrs. Sullivan had lived at St. Joseph Home since 1957.

The former Susanna Becker was born April 17, 1877 [1879 per cemetery records; 1878 per MN & SS death index], at Garner, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Becker. She received her education in the Garner community schools.

She was married Nov. 29, 1899 [1902 per husband’s obit], to Steve Sullivan at Garner. Mr. Sullivan was an engineer for the Rock Island Railways.

In 1909 they moved to Estherville where he continued working for the Rock Island. Mr. Sullivan died July 30, 1944.

Mrs. Sullivan was a member of St. Patrick’s Church while here and was an active member of the Catholic Daughters of America.

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Merton (Helen) Mason of Estherville; Mrs. Leo (LaVaune) Clark of Welcome and Mrs. T.D. (Clara) O’Connell of Fort Dodge; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren,; one great-great grandchild; and two brothers, Ed Becker of Solvay, Minn., and Fred Becker of Garner.

Funeral services are to be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church, the Rt. Rev. Msgr. James H. Duhigg officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery.

A rosary will be said today at 8 p.m. at the Fuhrman Funeral Home.
