Mrs. Wayne Potter, 52, Dies at Home
Graettinger – Mrs. Wayne Potter, 52, died last night at her home in Graettinger. She had been in bad health for several months.

The former Helen [Louise] Reed, daughter of Mrs. A.I. Reed, and the late Dr. A.I. Reed of Estherville, was born June 19, 1910 at Beaver, Iowa. She received her education at Grand Junction and at the University of Commerce in Des Moines. She married Wayne Potter on June 4, 1928, at Knoxville.

The Potters moved to Palo Alto County in 1937. Mrs. Potter had been employed at Beaver, Grand Junction, Des Moines, Jefferson, Estherville and Graettinger. She was active in the American Legion, Auxiliary, Woman’s Club, Embroidery Club, PTA, Methodist WSCS and church choir.

Mrs. Potter is survived by her husband, Wayne, two sons, Reed Potter, Spirit Lake and Donald Potter, Graettinger; one daughter, Mrs. Richard R. Campbell, Harlan; Her mother, Mrs. A.I. Reed and three brothers, W.L. and Russell E. Reed, Estherville, and Robert K. Reed, Aberdeen, S.D. She was preceded in death by her father.

Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the Methodist Church in Graettinger with the Rev. C.F. Curtiss officiating. Friends may call at the Martin Fuhrman Funeral Home at Graettinger after 3 p.m. Sunday until the time of service. Burial will be at the East Side Cemetery.
