Receive Word of Death of Their Son
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Potter received word of the death of their son Roger Potter, 19, in Santa Rosa, N.M. New Mexico authorities found Potter’s body yesterday morning and reported that he had taken his own life. Potter was AWOL from the Army. He was stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. The Army is shipping the body to Estherville where Fuhrman Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 29, 1963)

Potter Rites to Be Held Here On Saturday
Funeral services of Roger Lynn Potter, 19, who was found dead Monday in Santa Rosa, N.M., will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Fuhrman Funeral Home with the Rev. Marion Bloodworth of Webb Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in East Side Cemetery.

Potter was born June 4, 1943, son of Robert and Marian Potter, in Sioux Rapids. He moved with his family to Estherville in1957 and he was graduated from Estherville High School last spring.

He is survived by his parents, two brothers, Dennis and Delbert, both at home; a grandmother, Mrs. Mrs. Mae Boles, Emmetsburg, and a grandfather, Bert Potter, Webb.

Friends may call at the Fuhrman Funeral Home from Friday afternoon and until the time of service on Saturday.

Pallbearers will be Melvin Buck, Bill Spencer, Terry Morris, Barry Haines, Charles Schroeck and Robert Ridley. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 31, 1963)
