Mrs. Sweet Succumbs; Rites Set
Estherville – Mrs. Vivian Sweet, 67, of Estherville died Tuesday, Aug. 27 at Veteran’s Hospital in Minneapolis.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Henry Funeral Chapel with Max Goldman of the United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in the East Side Cemetery. Friends may call after noon on Thursday. Military services will be held.

Mrs. Sweet was born May 5, 1907 in Elkader, Iowa. Her parents were Benjamin Foderberg and Maude Pilate. She received her education in the Dow City High School.

In 1926 she wed Howard Bradley in Fort Dodge. On Oct. 27, 1956 [per his obituary 1955] she wed Alvin Sweet at Fairmont, Minn. She has been a resident of Estherville since 1964.

She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, the American Legion Auxiliary, a veteran of World War II serving in the WACs.

Mrs. Sweet is survived by one brother, Linn Foderberg of Estherville; sister-in-law Lois Foderberg of Estherville; and one nephew, Gary Foderberg.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, one son, Gerald Bradley, one sister and one brother. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 28, 1974)
