Mrs. Mary Peak Services Held
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Peak, 92, Estherville, were held at 2 p.m. Monday at United Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Peak died Aug. 17, 1972, at Good Samaritan Center where she had resided the past year.The Rev. H. Allen Wirtz officiated over the rites and Mrs. Myron Lund was soloist and Mrs. August Rosenberger organist. Interment was made in East Side Cemetery, Estherville. Pallbearers were Frank Hiney, Frank Klingbeil, Fred Krough, Robert Lange, Francis Matthes and James B. Peak.
She was born Sept. 6, 1879, to Thompson and Margaret Ross in Grundy County. After being educated in Grundy County schools, she was married Feb. 18, 1904, to Philip B. Peak in Forest City. Following their marriage, the couple came to Emmet County where they farmed in Swan Lake Township for 50 years. Mr. Peak died in April, 1954.
Mrs. Peak is survived by one son, Philip L. Peak of Bloomington, Ind.; three daughters, Lorina [Louisa] E. Peak of Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Elizabeth Horelin of Elma, Wash., and Mrs. Fred (Maggie) Hall of Estherville; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and seven brothers and sisters.
