Former Resident Succumbs
Mara [Mira] Loma, Calif. – Theodore (Ted) Nelson, 62, Mara Loma, Calif., died at his home early Monday [January 13, 1975]. Funeral services are pending at Fuhrman Funeral Home, Estherville.

He was born Dec. 4, 1912 in rural Wallingford to Mr. and Mrs. William Nelson and was educated in the Wallingford schools.

Mr. Nelson was married to Dorothy Scott on Dec. 31, 1934 in Estherville. They farmed in Emmet and Palo Alto Counties, in Wisconsin and in Minnesota. He returned to Estherville in 1958 and operated a rural route for Kinnard’s Dairy until his retirement in 1969. He had been a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife, one son, Dan Nelson, Estherville; two daughters, Mrs. Dean (Theodora) Oswald, Frost, Minn.; and Mrs. James (Gayle) Meehan, Riverside, Calif.; eight grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Leslie (Lenora) Sidles, Estherville.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, his parents, one sister and one brother. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 14, 1975)
