Former Estherville Woman Dies
Funeral services will be held here Wednesday for a former Estherville woman, Mildred Loveland Cook, 65, who died Thursday night [February 20, 1964] at Latah, Wash. She had been in failing health for several years.She was born June 10, 1896 [per gravestone, June 17, 1898], at Ellsworth, Minn., to Mr. and Mrs. Warren Loveland. She came to Estherville with her parents to live here as a young girl. She received her education in Ellsworth and Estherville schools.
For the past 20 years she had lived in Washington , and for some time prior to that, she lived in Sioux Falls, S.D.
She is survived by a son, Edward Gerloff, and a daughter, Mrs. Evelyn Otto, both of Sioux Falls. Seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also survive.
Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. tomorrow at the Reese Funeral Home and the service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick’s church, with Father James E. Fangman to officiate. Burial is to be at St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Reese-Funeral Home from 6 p.m. Tuesday until time of services Wednesday. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, February 24, 1964)
