L.P. GJERMO IS DEAD
Well Known Banker Passes Away at Fergus Falls Last Friday.

This community was greatly shocked last Friday when the sad news came flashing over the wires from Fergus Falls, Minn., that L.P. Gjermo was dead. Only a few intimate friends knew he was ill.

For some time he has been troubled with appendicitis. It had appeared two or three times, but in mild form. A recurrence of the dread disease, decided his physician at Fergus Falls that an operation was necessary. This was performed last Tuesday morning and was quite successful and there were strong hopes he would soon be up and around. However, gangren and other complications set in and he passed away Friday morning at 9 o'clock.

The funeral was held Sunday at Decorah, Iowa, his former home, and the remains were laid to tenderly at rest in the family burying ground.
Mr. Gjermo was an exceptionally bright young man of great promise.

He came to Armstrong some six or seven years ago to accept the cashiership of the First National Bank of that place, a position he filled with much ability until a few months ago when he resigned to go to Fergus Falls as the cashier of the new Scandia State bank, organized by local capitalists. He was a prince of good fellows and to know him was to admire and esteem him. He was a member of the Masonid bodies. He leaves a wife to mourn his untimely death.
