Ringsted – Jerry Ray Meiners, 39, Ringsted, died at 3:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary’s Hospital, Rochester. He had been in ill health for the past 6 years.

Services for Mr. Meiners will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Gruver Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Neal Armstrong officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery, Estherville.

Friends may call at the Fuhrman Funeral Home, Estherville, until 11 a.m. Tuesday, when the body will be taken to the church.

Mr. Meiners was born May 8, 1938, at Graettinger, the son or Mr. and Mrs. George Meiners. He was raised in the Gruver area and attended Gruver school.

He was married to Dorothy Brawford March 22, 1963, at Estherville and the couple lived the past three years in Ringsted. Mr. Meiners was employed as a telephone cable installer at the time of his death.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; five children, Todd, 13, Kurt, 12, Jerry Lee, 10, Troy, 8, and Kimberly, 3; his mother, Mrs. George Meiners, Estherville; and one sister, Mrs. Lester Bethke, Byron, Minn.
