Services for William Frederick Ramsey, 73, Estherville, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Gruver Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Neal Armstrong officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery, Estherville. Mr. Ramsey died Sunday [February 4, 1979] at his home.

Visitation will be until 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Fuhrman Funeral Home, Estherville, when the body will be taken to the church.

The son of Mr. and Mrs. James Ramsey he was born on Nov. 10, 1905, at Grand Ridge, Ill. He came to the Gruver area with his parents in 1915. On April 27, 1927, he was married to Jessie Krieger at Truman, Minn. The couple farmed in the Gruver and Estherville areas until retiring and moving to Estherville in 1975.

Mr. Ramsey was an elder in the Gruver Presbyterian Church and was active in church and community activities.

He is survived by his wife, Jessie; two daughters, Mrs. Edward (Mildred) Hanlon, Fairmont, Minn., and Mrs. James (Jane) Anderson, Eielson, AFB, Fairbanks, Alaska; four grandchildren; four brothers, Guy Ramsey, Carmichael, Calif., Lester Ramsey, Gus Ramsey and Frank Ramsey, all of Estherville; and two sisters, Mrs. William (Alice) Higinbotham, Estherville, and Isabelle Ramsey, Gruver.

Mr. Ramsey was preceded in death by one daughter, his parents and one sister. (Estherville Daily News, Feb 6, 1979)
