John "Jack" G. Kruse the son of John P. and LaRaine (Toohey) Kruse was born September 23, 1927 near Peterson, Iowa and departed this life on Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at his home in Estherville at the age of 80.

He received his education in Arnolds Park and graduated from High School in 1946. Following high school, he served in the United States Army - train guard in Korea until 1948.

On April 18, 1953 he was united in marriage to Donna Rehborg at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Milford. Following their marriage the couple made their home in Arnolds Park. In 1956, the couple moved to Estherville and Jack worked for NW Bell Telephone Company until his retirement in 1983. For hobbies, he enjoyed golfing, fishing and most important was spending time with family and friends.

He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, lifetime member of the V.F.W. and served on the Estherville Fire Department.

Left to cherish Jack's memory is his wife, Donna of Estherville; his children, Janine Tate and her husband, Alex and their children, A.J. and Zachary of Overland Park, Kansas; Kathy Parker and her children, Adjoni and Justin of San Jose, California; Mike Kruse of Estherville; Connie Tryon and her husband, Dan and their children, Aaron of Kansas City and Katie of Spirit Lake, Iowa; Mark Kruse and his wife, Cathy and their children, Carson and Carly of Williston, North Dakota; and Karla McCarty and her husband, Mike of Estherville.

He has been preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, LaVonne Scarcello and Shirley Enderson and one granddaughter, Abra Parker.
