Tentative Date Set for Rites for Mrs. McMillan
Funeral services for Mrs. William McMillan have been set tentatively for Saturday pending word from daughters in California. Mrs. McMillan died at 8 a.m. yesterday at Holy Family Hospital where she had been recovering for the past month from a broken hip.

Born Oct. 8, 1870, 10 miles northeast of Oelwein, her maiden name was Cora Heath. She married William McMillan March 31, 1901. They farmed near Superior most of their married life.

Surviving her death are her husband and five children, Mrs. Kenneth (Lizzie) Tuttle of Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs. Jim (Nellie) Shifeles [Shiflett] of Omaha, Neb., Mrs. Clifford (Rachael) Zefhazo [De Shazo] of Terril, Archie of Estherville, and Hilo of Clovis, Calif. She also is survived by four grandchildren. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 23, 1952)

Mrs. McMillan, 81, Was Born Near Oelwein
Cora Heath McMillan was born Oct. 8, 1870, near Oelwein and received her education in the schools near there.

She married William McMillan March 31, 1901. They farmed near Superior most of their married life although they lived north of Gruver for several years.

Surviving her death are her husband and five children, Hilo of Clovis, Calif., Mrs. Kenneth (Lizzie) Tuttle of Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs. Jim (Nellie) Shiflett of Omaha, Neb., Archie of Estherville and Mrs. Clifford (Rachel) De Shazo of Terril. Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Hattie Meikle of Estherville, a brother, Frank Heath of Waterloo and four grandchildren, Betty Lou and Dwight Tuttle and Maxine and Billy De Shazo.

She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant daughter. Funeral services were held Saturday, July 26 at the Christian church with the Rev. Clyde Leeds in charge. Burial was in East Side cemetery. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 30, 1952)
