Heart Attack Fatal to Local Man, 66
Walter Jefferson McGuinn, 66, died at 9 p.m. yesterday of a heart attack at his home, 1208 North Ninth street.

Born March 23, 1889, in Corbin, Kans., he moved as a boy with his parents to Salt Fork, Okla., where the family homesteaded. While in Salt Fork he married Bessie Cole on May 1, 1907. They lived in Enid and Salt Fork, Okla., and a number of other towns while Mr. McGuinn was in the house moving business. He farmed and worked for Standard Oil company for a time.

Moving to Estherville in the late 1940’s, he worked in the Davis Packing plant and operated a filling station near here.

Three or four years ago he retired.

Surviving his death are his widow and children, Frank of Kansas City, Mo., Clifford of Chicago, Paul of Tulsa, Okla., Arnold of Kansas City, Merlyn of Jackson, Mis., Mrs. Paul N. (Wilma) Paulson of Sherburn, Minn. Preceding him in death were three children.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Estherville Lutheran church, the Rev. L.G. Hinderaker officiating. Burial will be in Eastside cemetery. Friends may call at the Sandin Funeral home from 10 a.m. Monday to 10 a.m. Tuesday, at which time the body will lie in state at the church until time of the funeral.
