David Loyd Barie the son of Loyd Edward and Irma Ruth (Winter) Barie was born June 19, 1946 in Estherville, Iowa and departed this life on Sunday, June 10, 2007 at Avera Mckennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota at the age of 60.

David attended Superior schools and graduated from Algona High School in 1964. Later David, received his Bachelor of Science Degree from the Mankato State University.

On September 4, 1965, he was united in marriage to Joan Jergens in Algona. David served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. After his discharge from the Army he returned to Estherville and was employed with Pepsi for 40 years. David also spent 26 years on the Estherville Police Reserves. Most important to David was spending time with his family and grandchildren.

David was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, a life-time member of the VFW and a member of the NRA.

Left to cherish David's memory are his wife, Joan; his children, Todd Barie and his wife, Chris; Jane Aanonson and her husband, Brian ; Gina Reiter and her husband, Chad; Amy Barie and her special friend, Jon Looft all of Estherville; 11 grandchildren, Nikki, Alex, Caleb, Adam, Cheyenne, Michelle and special friend, Robbie, Emily, Nicholas, Chase, Cole, Carter; mother, Irma Barie of Jackson, Minnesota; brother, Dennis Barie and his wife, Nancy of Estherville; sister, Dona Vanderby and her husband, Allen of Osakis, Minnesota; other special people in Dave's life, Judy Schacherer; Lester Senn; Randy and Ila Hirsh and many other family and friends.
