Mrs. Elizabeth Sheldon Dies at Daughter’s Home
Mrs. Elizabeth Alice Sheldon, mother of Mrs. Dudley McDaniel of Estherville, died early Wednesday at the home of her daughter north of town after a short illness. Mrs. Sheldon, 76, became ill a week ago from a cold and had been confined to her bed since.

Mrs. Sheldon was born June 30, 1868, in Wisconsin and moved to Alden, Iowa with her parents when she was three years old. Her husband, who had been her sister’s widower, died in 1930. Mrs. Sheldon has made her home with her daughter since.

She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. McDaniel and her sister’s children, Richard Sheldon of Hayward, Calif., and Mrs. Jess Haldman of Idaho; two sisters, Mrs. Ellen Hurd of Linn, Minn., and Mrs. Susie Crabtree of Randall, S.D., and one brother, Charles Farmer [Palmer], of Wisconsin.

No funeral arrangements have been made pending arrival of relatives. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, November 23, 1944)
