Mrs. McAdams, 80, Dies; Rites Will Be Friday
Mrs. Josephine McAdams, 80, Estherville, died at 9 p.m. Wednesday [May 7, 1969] at Holy Family Hospital. She had been in failing health for about six months.

She was born July 17, 1888, near Dows, in Franklin County, Iowa, to Mr. and Mrs. Julius Bertilson.

She was educated in the Dows Community and was married in September 1915 to Clyde Lee McAdams at Albert Lea, Minn. They lived in the Dows community, where he operated a grain elevator, until 1955. In that year, they moved to Estherville, where she has lived since that time. He died in 1957.

She was a member of Estherville Lutheran Church.

Survivors include one son, Donald L., Estherville; a nephew, J.M. McAdams, Dows; four grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Hilda Shaffer, Dows.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Estherville Lutheran Church. A Family service at 1:30 p.m. at the church will precede the public service. The Rev. Stephen Engelstad and Rev. Karl Nelson will officiate. Burial will be at East Side Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Reese-Henry Funeral Home after 4 p.m. today until noon on Friday. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, May 8, 1969)
