Anchorage, Alaska – Services for Patrick Lee Kurth, 24, of Anchorage, Alaska, and formerly of Estherville, will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 4, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Estherville, with Father Albert O. Grendler officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. He died Sunday, June 30, 1985 in Seattle, Wash.Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Henry and Olson Funeral Home, Estherville, with the parish rosary at 7:30 p.m.
He was born April 5, 1961 in Oelwein, the son of LeRoy (Bud) and Judy (Groetken) Kurth, and graduated from Estherville High School in 1979. He attended the South Dakota State University College of Pharmacy in Brookings, S.D. On Sept. 22, 1984 he was united in marriage with Lori Lund at Vermillion, S.D. He lived in Estherville until he graduated from college and then he moved to Cody, Wyo., where he worked as a pharmacist in a retail store. He had recently moved to Anchorage, Alaska, and began working as a pharmaceutical representative for Glaxo, Inc. At the time of his death he was training for his new career in Seattle, Wash. he was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Cody, Wyo., and Kappa Psi Pharmacy Fraternity.
Survivors include his wife, Lori Kurth; parents, Bud and Judy Kurth, Estherville; one brother, Gary and one sister, Tracy, both of Estherville; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Groetkin, LeMars; paternal grandmother, Mrs. LeRoy Kurth, LeMars.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 3, 1985)
