Mildred Faisst
Estherville – Services for Mrs. Joseph (Mildred) Faisst, 76, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with interment in the church cemetery. She died Sunday [August 8, 1982] night at the Holy Family Hospital. Father Albert O. Grendler will officiate the services.

Friends may call at the Fuhrman Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Tuesday. Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mildred Landmesser was born Jan. 5, 1906 at Gilmore City and moved with her family to the Superior area in1917. She attended Superior schools and graduated from Mercy Hospital Nurses Training in Fort Dodge in 1923. On June 25, 1945 she was united in marriage to Joseph Faisst at Estherville. Mrs. Faisst was head nurse at the Birney Hospital, Coleman Hospital and Holy Family Hospital and for many years was office nurse for Dr. G.J. Johnston. Mr. Faisst died April 20, 1976.

She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and the Nurses Guild of Iowa. The last four years she has resided in an apartment at Good Samaritan Center and since May of this year has been at the Rosewood Manor.

Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Daryl (Bernice) Thompson, Spirit Lake; one brother, Vernon Landmesser, Lawtin Island, Iowa; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and one brother, Merle Landmesser. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 10, 1982)
