Mrs. Fred Zitterich Dies at 69

Mrs. Fred H. Zitterich, 69, died yesterday at noon at the Zitterich home in Estherville, after suffering a severe stroke. She had been in poor health for the past two years.

Born Feb. 4, 1886, at Nichols; Emma Louise Zerke was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Zerke. Mrs. Zerke married Fred Herman Zitterich, Dec 8, 1909, and the first years of the couple's life were spent here in Estherville.

Mr. and Mrs. Zitterich then spent 17 years on a farm south of Estherville before returning to town where they have been living since that time.

Surviving Mrs. Zitterich in addition to her husband are their ten children, Richard, Clair, Walter, Mrs. Ernest (Rose) Syverson, Mrs. Glenn (Esther) Lauritsen, Mrs. Jack (Lois) Rogers and Mrs. Elden (Marybelle) Dahl of Estherville; William, Cheyenne, Wyo.; Francis, Ames, Nebr. and Mrs. Donald (Evelyn) Muetzel, Spencer.

The three surviving sisters of Mrs. Zitterich are Mrs. Will Spoo and Mrs. Albert Hieman, both of Estherville, and Mrs. Earl Studer of Faribault, Minn. Also surviving are 27 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Her parents, one brother, Peter, and two sisters, Helen and Martha (Mrs. John Spoo) preceded Mrs. Zitterich in death. Mrs. Zitterich was confirmed in the Immanuel Lutheran church at Terril and was a member of the Estherville Immanuel Lutheran church. She was active In the Ladies' Aid and circle of the church as long as her health permitted. Funeral services have tentatively been set for Tuesday afternoon at the Immanuel Lutheran church, Rev.
