Rites Monday for Fred A. Loeschen, 74
Frederick August Loeschen, 74, Estherville, died of cancer shortly before noon Thursday, April 12, 1973, at Holy Family Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 16, at 11 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran church in Estherville, the Rev. R.B Flentgen officiating. Burial will be in East Side cemetery.
Mr. Loeschen was born June 10, 1898, at Glidden, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Loeschen. He received his schooling at St. James, Minn., and at Mankato State College.
He lived in St. James from 1907 to 1921.
He was married to Pauline Hennings March 28, 1921, at Burt and they moved to Emmet county where they farmed until 1933. From then until 1955 he did well digging and after retirement he was in the bait business.
He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran church.
Surviving are his wife, Pauline, Estherville; one son, Carl Loeschen of Estherville; six daughters, Mrs. Allie Mortvedt, Ellsworth, Ia.; Mrs. Louse Adams, Buffalo, N.Y.; Mrs. Elsie Dalen and Mrs. Betty Cain, Sioux City; Mrs. Helen Newbrough, Humboldt; Mrs. Dorothy Cline, Guam; 24 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He has two sisters, Louis Loeschen of St. James and Mrs. Lydia Knake, Minneapolis.
His parents, two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
Friends may call at Reese-Henry Funeral Home at Estherville after 9 a.m. Sunday until 9:30 Monday. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, April 13, 1973)
