Kissinger Rites to Be on Friday
Jesse John Kissinger, 73, died yesterday morning of a heart condition in the Holy Family Hospital. He had had a heart ailment since his early 30’s but the condition became serious the past two weeks.

Kissinger, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Kissinger, was born on Jan. 8, 1889 at Milford, Neb. He received his education in the Milford area school, and he married a home town girl, the former Isabel Ernst, on Feb. 25, 1916.

The Kissingers moved to Emmet County and started farming near Dolliver in 1933. They farmed in Emmet and Dickinson counties until moving to Estherville in 1956 upon retirement. Mr. Kissinger was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.

Kissinger is survived by his wife, three daughters, Mrs. R.W. (Evelyn) Brady, Tacoma, Wash., Mrs. William (Arvilla) Schultz, San Diego, Calif., and Mrs. Fay (Gladys) Moore, Bellevue, Neb., and eight grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister, Bessie Kissinger, Omaha, Neb., and one brother, Robert Kissinger, Carter Lake. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son and one brother.

Family services will be held at 11:30 p.m. Friday at the Sternborg-Reese Funeral Home and the public services will follow at 2 p.m. at the Estherville First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. James K. Lyon officiating.

Friends may call at the Sternborg-Reese Funeral Home after 6 p.m. today until 11:30 a.m. on Friday when the casket will be moved to the church where the body will lie in state until the time of service. The casket will not be opened after the service. Burial will be in East Side Cemtery. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 17, 1962)
