Joseph King’s Services Thursday Afternoon
Estherville – Joseph William King, 76, Estherville, died at 5:30 a.m. Feb. 26 in Holy Family Hospital.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in United Methodist Church, Estherville, with the Rev. Max Goldman officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery, where military graveside rites will be performed.

Friends may call at Reese-Henry Funeral Home, Estherville, at any time until noon Thursday.

Mr. King was born March 18, 1897 at Loda, Ill., to Mr. and Mrs. William King. He was educated in Loda schools. He was married to Verna Alice Hamilton o Oct. 19, 1927 at the farm home of her grandparents near Fenton.

He had come to Ringsted in 1916 and worked in that area until 1943 when he moved to Estherville. He was employed by Golden Sun and the Hill Packing Co. He was a member of United Methodist Church, Estherville, and was a veteran of World War I.

Survivors include his wife, Verna, of Estherville; three son, Dale and Wayne King, both of Estherville, and Gary King, Manly; two daughters, Mrs. Thomas (Phyllis) Fraser, Storm Lake, and Mrs. Donald (Betty) Kafer, Emmetsburg; 20 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Arthur King, Paxton, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and one sister.

Serving as pallbearers will be Dan King, Tim King, James Fraser, David Fraser, Terry King and Grant Wilson. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, February 27, 1974)
