Wagner, S.D. – Services for Murial F. Skibba, 73, will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Estherville, with Father Thomas Topf officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. She died Sunday, Sept. 18, 1988 at her home in Wagner.Friends may call at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home after 9 a.m. Wednesday.
Murriel Wilcox was born March 10, 1915 at Minneapolis, the daughter of Frank and Anna (Anderson) Wilcox. She was a 1933 graduate of St. Margaret’s Academy. In 1938 she married Leo (Louie) Skibba at Mineral Wells, Texas. The couple lived in Minneapolis several years before moving to Estherville in 1953. She was employed at Holy Family Hospital 20 years, retiring in 1980. After her retirement she moved to Wagner. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and Catholic Daughters of America.
Survivors include two daughters: Mrs. Jeff (Joanne) Archambean, Marty, S.D. and Mrs. Allen (Marion) Grootes, Mason City; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. A.R. (Marion) Wicks, Estherville.
She was preceded in death by her husband Leo in 1966; parent; one brother and sister. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, September 18, 1988)
