Estherville – Services for Frances Long, 91, of Estherville, will be held Saturday at 10:30 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with Father Tom Nash officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. She died Thursday, Jan. 12, 1995 at Holy Family Hospital. Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Legion of Mary Rosary and Parish Vigil were held at the funeral home on Friday.

She was born August 30, 1903 at Shelby, Mich., the daughter of Henry and Josephine [Bender] Long. She moved to Estherville with her family as a young child and received her education in the Estherville Schools where she graduated from high school. She was employed for 20 years at Estherville Drug Store and later worked as an office secretary at Tobin Packing Co. and John Morrell and Co. in Estherville over 20 years until her retirement. She remained single.

She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Estherville; Legion of Mary, and Altar and Rosary Society.

Survivors include a sister, Beth Stavros, Estherville; niece, Barbara Kiefer, nephew George Stavros of Phoenix, Ariz. grand and great-grand nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and three sisters. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January, 1995)
