Kielmann Funeral Monday
Klaas D. Kielmann, died at 5:45 Thursday, Sept. 7, 1972, of a heart attack at his home at 603 N. 13 St.Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Redeemer Lutheran Church with the Rev. Harold Brown officiating. Interment will be made in East Side Cemetery.
Mr. Kielmann was born Jan. 5, 1906 in Emden, Germany to Anton and Tamelina Kielmann. After receiving his education in Germany, he came at the age of 18 to the United States and located at Bristow in Butler County, Iowa. In 1942 he came to Emmet County, where he was engaged in construction and farming.
On Nov. 19, 1949, he was married to Irene Isder in Minnesota. They moved to Omaha in 1949 and lived there until moving back to Estherville in 1969.
He is survived by his wife, Irene; one son and two daughters, Mrs. Leonard (Marlene) Papian of Des Moines, Merwin Kielmann of Carlyle and Patricia Kielmann at home; four grandchildren; one brother, Otto Kielmann in Emden, West Germany; two sisters, Mrs. Kathe Geiken of Emden and Mrs. Peter Steffen of Dusseldorf, West Germany.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a twin sister and a brother.
Friends may call at Reese-Henry Funeral Home in Estherville after 7 p.m. Saturday until noon on Monday. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, September 8, 1972)
