Estherville – Funeral services for Raymond Francis Fiedler, 75, of Osakis, Minn. will be held on Thursday, July 22 at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville with Father Jerry Cosgrove officiating. Interment will be at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in Estherville. He died on Wednesday, July 7, 2004 in Osakis.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services on Thursday.

Raymond was born on Sept. 20, 1928 in Fulda, Minn., the son of John and Loretta (Frey) Fiedler. He was united in marriage to LuJean Heinrichs on May 26, 1953 in Estherville.

He received his GED from Thomas Jefferson High School in Bloomington, Minn. in 1984. They moved to Minneapolis where he worked for Earll Manufacturing until his retirement in 1989. He then fulfilled his dream and moved to Osakis to a hobby farm.

Raymond is survived by one son, Larry and his wife, Heidi of New Richmond, Wis.; five daughters, Deb Szmergalski and her husband, Ron of Eden Prairie, Minn., Linda Hansen and her husband, Gary of Aitkin, Minn., Karen Fiedler of Bloomington, Minn., Michelle Schaefer and her husband, John of Dresser, Wis. and Brenda Slovak and her husband, Steve of Rosemount, Minn.; one brother, John and his wife, Martha and two sisters-in-law, Ann Fiedler and Lorraine Fielder and 16 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; two brothers, Bernard and Henry and one sister, Joyce. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July, 2004)
