Estherville – Services for Geneva Mae Domek, 79, of Estherville will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 17 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with Father Thomas Topf presiding. Interment will be at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in Estherville. Legion of Mary will be at 4:00 p.m. and Parish Vigil Service at 7:30 p.m. She died Saturday June 13 at McKenan Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D.

Visitors may call Tuesday, from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville.

She was born May 11, 1913 in Adelphi, the daughter of Joseph and Orpha Mae (Prine) McKinney. She graduated from Emmetsburg High School in 1931 and attended Morningside College. She married Leo H. Domek on May 3, 1938 in Emmetsburg. She moved with her family to the Emmetsburg-Ruthven area as a young girl and attended school in Emmetsburg. After their marriage, the couple farmed near Depew for 10 year before moving to the Estherville area in 1948. She worked as a cook at St. Patrick’s grade school in Estherville from 1955 to 1971. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Altar and Rosary Society, and Catholic Daughters of America.

She is survived by one son, Leo Domek of Huntington, and one daughter, Mrs. Patrick (Mary Ruth) Colbert, Fridley, Minn.

Other survivors include one sister, Mrs. Mary Potter of Emmetsburg, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers and two sisters. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, June, 1992)
