Heart Attack Fatal to John Juhl
While attending a family dinner yesterday, John Juhl, 75, was stricken with a fatal heart attack as family members were preparing to eat at the home of his granddaughter, Mrs. Norman Lux of Hartley. He died at 12:30 p.m.

Mr. Juhl was born Oct. 10, 1888 in Estherville, the son of Gregers and Dorothy Juhl. He received his education in Emmet County. On Feb. 23, 1910, he was wed to Emma Ziemer in Dunnell.

A lifetime resident of Emmet County, Mr. Juhl resided on the farm which he owned, east of Estherville.

For eight years his health had been failing because of a heart and blood condition.

He served on the Center Township Board of Trustees and on the township election board for a number of years and had been a member of First Presbyterian Church of Estherville since 1904

Surviving him are his widow, two daughters, Mrs. Glenn (Edna) Hackett, Mrs. Harry (Irene) Jespersen, both of Estherville; one son, Raymond of Estherville and Mrs. Elmer (Barbara) Herbranson of Armstrong, a niece whom the Juhls had reared since childhood.

Seventeen grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, a number of nieces and nephews and one brother, Thomas of Estherville also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Hazel and four brothers.

Services will be Wednesday a family service at 11 a.m. at Fuhrman Funeral Home and at 2 p.m. in the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. James K. Lyon of Omaha officiating. Burial will be in Eastside Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Fuhrman Funeral Home from this evening until noon Wednesday when the body will be taken to the Church where friends may call until time of services. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, December 11, 1963)
