On Wednesday, June 5th, occurred the funeral of Mrs. [Annie Hanson] Juhl, who died Sunday June 2nd. The funeral service was conducted by Rev. Ginn at the home of her son Chris Juhl, 6 mile northeast of Estherville. Mrs. Juhl was born in Denmark in 1817 and had lived through the most eventful period of modern history. Many friends gathered to extend to the bereaved heartfelt sympathy. (Estherville Democrat, Estherville, IA, Jun 12, 1901)

Mrs. Juhl aged 84 years died at the home of her son, Chas. [Chris] Juhl, Sunday June 2d. Funeral was held at residence Wednesday last week, Rev. F.W. Ginn conducting the services. Deceased was born in Denmark in 1817 and has resided in this country about thirty years, several years having been spent in Emmet county. (Emmet County Republican, Estherville, IA, June 13, 1901)
