Cyril Borman [Bormann]
Service for Cyril Benedict Borman, 78, of Estherville, will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home with Father Thomas Topf officiating. Interment will be at 4 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery. He died Saturday, June 15, 1991 at Holy Family Hospital.

He was born June 28, 1912 at Decatur, Illinois, the son of August and Mary Borman. He moved to Wallingford area with his family and attended high school at Graettinger. He farmed and worked at the Tobin Packing Co. in Estherville. He served with the United States Army during World War II. After the war, he worked for Montgomery Ward and Co. and later Schenck Paint in Estherville for a number of years before he retired. He never married and was a life member of VFW Post 3388 and American Legion Post 91.

Survivors include brothers: Gregory Borman of Emmetsburg, Bernard Borman of Morris, Minn., and sisters Mrs. Thomas (Lois) Thoma of Clare, Mrs. Vic (Corrine) Johnson of Fremont, Ca.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers (Oswald, Norbert and Louis) and one sister, Bernice Woodling. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, June 17, 1991)
