Estherville – Funeral services for Viola Lucille Harvey, 94, of Albert Lea, Minn. will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 17 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Estherville with Father Jerry Cosgrove officiating. Interment will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in Estherville. She died on Friday, Oct. 10, 2003 at St. John’s Lutheran Home in Albert Lea.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 16 at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville.

Viola was born on May 28, 1909 in Charles Mix County, S.D., the daughter of Edward and Susan (Doster/Duster) Rebensdorf. She received her teachers training at Platte, S.D., graduating from high school in 1927.

She taught in rural schools in South Dakota until she married Jack (John) Harvey at St. Mary’s in Stickney, S.D. They farmed south of Gruver, and celebrated their fiftieth anniversary in 1981.

She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Estherville. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and St. Patrick’s Altar and Rosary Society.

Viola is survived by her daughters, Loretta Harvey of Aurora, Colo. and Teresa Schiltz of Albert Lea; daughter-in-law, Maxine Mahin and her husband, Bill of Escondido, Calif.; five grandchildren, Alan Harvey and his wife, Karen of Falls Church, Va.; Brian Harvey and his wife, Kay of Atascodero, Calif.; Douglis Schiltz of Albert Lea; Annette Doppelhammer and her husband, John of Albert Lea; and Deborah Eckert and her husband, Pat of Rochester, Minn.; one sisters, Stella Koch of White Lake, S.D.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jack; her son, Joseph; grandson, Timothy Schiltz; sisters, Cecelia Mueller, Irene Krier and son-in-law Robert Schiltz. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 14, 2003)
