Dale Wycoff
Estherville – Services for Dale Clifford Wycoff, 61, will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with Father Thomas Topf officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery with military service by the VFW and American Legion. He died Sunday, Oct. 22, 1989 at Holy Family Hospital. Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.He was born Nov. 9, 1927 at Sioux Falls, S.D., the son of Clifford and Iva (Swanson) Wycoff and was a graduate of Estherville High School in 1945. He served in the United States Navy during World War Two in the Philippine Islands. On June 1, 1950 he was united in marriage with Doris Opelt at Estherville. Following service he worked a the Estherville Scrap Iron Co. and became owner of the business in 1971. He retired in 1982 due to ill health.
He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include his wife, Doris, Estherville; two sons, Dan and Tom of Estherville; three daughters, Mrs. Larry (Deborah) Nurre, Mankato, Minn., Lisa Wycoff, Urbandale and Mrs. Martin (Barbara) Loos, Spirit Lake; nine grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Clarence (Luella) Halstead, Estherville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and one sister. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 25, 1989)
