Susan Burns
El Reno, Okla. – Graveside for Mrs. Francis (Susan) [Susan Platter] Burns, 84, will be held Saturday, 1:30 p.m. at the East Side Cemetery with the Rev. Fred Sawyer officiating. She died Wednesday, Sept. 7, 1983 at El Reno.

She was born Jan. 3, 1893 at Estherville, and was married to Francis (Shot) Burns who was employed on the Rock Island Railroad at Estherville and transferred to El Reno where they remained.

Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Martin (Ivy) Johnson, Estherville and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Ed (Nellie) O’Neill, Ruthven, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents and three brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, September 9, 1983)
