Estherville – Services for Julia Anne Neppl, 92, will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with Father Thomas Topf and Father Gerald Fisch officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. She died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 1991 at Rosewood Manor.Friends may call at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Home from 4-9 p.m. Friday. Legion of Mary will be prayed at 4 p.m. and Vigil Service at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
She was born Nov. 28, 1898 at Breda, the daughter of Nicholas and Catherine (Julich) Thelen and attended St. Bernard’s Parochial School at Breda. On June 27, 1919 she married Edward H. Neppl at Breda. The couple moved to a farm northeast of Estherville Mar. 1, 1925 and retired from the farm and moved into Estherville. Following her husband’s death in 1958 she was Father Fisch’s housekeeper until her retirement and then moved back to Estherville. She has lived at Rosewood Manor since 1987.
Survivors include three sons; Al, Estherville; L.P. (Shorty), Sherburn, Minn. and Ed, Grand Island, Neb.; three daughters: Mrs. Kenneth (Marie) Thiel and Mrs. John (Norma) Myers, Estherville and Margaret Bundy, Seattle, Wash.; many grand and great-grandchildren; three brothers, Paul Thelen, Clarissa, Minn.; Bert Thelen, Estherville and Fred Thelen, Breda; three sisters: Hilaria Bernholtz and Leona McCaffrey, Carroll and Helen Kelly, Lake View.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; infant son; two brothers and three sisters. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 3, 1991)
