Estherville – Services for Kathleen M. McIlwraith, 90, of Estherville, will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with Father Thomas Nash officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. She died Friday, Oct. 21, 1994 at Rosewood Manor Nursing Home.
Visitation will be from 4-8 .m. Sunday at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home. Legion of Mary Rosary at 4 p.m. and Parish Vigil service at 7 p.m. both at the funeral home.
She was born Feb. 25, 1904 at Spirit Lake, the daughter of George and Mary (Fitzpatrick) Miller and attended the Estherville schools, graduating from high school in 1923. She attended Minneapolis Business School. She was employed many years as bookkeeper for Rhodes and Montgomery Chevrolet and Buick garages in Estherville. On Nov. 8, 1952 she married William McIlwraith in Estherville. He died in 1969. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of America and Legion of Mary.
Survivors include a nephew, Fred Miller of Armstrong, nieces, Mary Murray of Estherville and Rebecca Atwood of Jackson, Mo., step-daughter, Wilma Watland, Sierra Vista, Ariz., Step-son, James McIlwraith, Mesa, Ariz.; step grand, step great-grand and step great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three brothers and two step-daughters. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 22, 1994)
