Mrs. William Logan
Superior – Mrs. William Logan died at 10:50 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15 at the Holy Family hospital in Estherville at the age of 68 years and two months. She had been ill for the past two years.Mrs. Logan (Violet Mary Patterson) was born July 15, 1886 at Reinbeck. She was the daughter of Henry and Sarah Patterson. She received her elementary education in Grundy county and was graduated from Buffalo Center high school where her parents had moved after leaving Reinbeck. She attended and was graduated from Iowa State Teachers college and later taught for several years in Kossuth county.
June 12, 1911 she was married to William Logan of Buffalo Center. They farmed near Buffalo Center for several years and lived for a time at Bancroft, Sherburn, Estherville, and finally Superior where they have resided for the past 25 years.
Mrs. Logan was a member of the St. Patrick’s church, the St. Monica circle and the Altar Rosary society of Estherville.
She is survived by her husband, William Logan, two sons, Bernard of Estherville, Bill of Eddyville; also three daughters, Mrs. Edwin Osher (La Von) of Wallingford, Mrs. Alan Krieger (Hazel) of Estherville and Mrs. Virgil Johnson (Betty) of Supeior. Also surviving are four brothers, Henry of Buffalo Center, David of Lakota, Herbert of Buffalo Center and Bert of Swea City. She is survived by eight grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and a grandchild, Kathleen Krieger. (Spirit Lake Beacon, Spirit Lake, IA, September 23, 1954)
